From laboratory analysis to technical direction, the move at the Dezzani family company was a progression in responsibility rather than a break in practice. Alessandro Gallo later served as Technical Director there until 2004, a period that tied scientific rigor to operational judgement and set up the broader remit that followed. In 2004, Alessandro Gallo moved to Castello di Albola as director. The role expanded over time into general manager, vineyard manager, and winemaker at Castello d’Albola, a combination that keeps the estate, the vineyard, and the cellar under one line of responsibility.
