i. Biography
Ana Diogo-Draper is a Portugal-born winemaker who joined California’s Rutherford Hill Winery in 2005 as a harvest intern and rose to assistant winemaker over eight years before moving to Artesa Vineyards & Winery in 2013. She was promoted to Director of Winemaking at Artesa in March 2015 and was the first woman to hold the top winemaking position there. Her work at Artesa has emphasized low-intervention, component winemaking and estate-to-bottle production in Napa Valley’s Carneros AVA.
