Before taking on estate responsibility at Spottswoode, he served as assistant winemaker at Ficklin Vineyards and then at Spottswoode (2006–2011), building the kind of technical fluency that connects field decisions to cellar decisions without separating the two. In 2009, Aron became vineyard manager of Spottswoode, and in 2011 he became winemaker, roles held to the present, and that range of responsibility has made continuity part of the job: the vineyard rows, the vintage work, and the larger shape of the wines all sit inside the same daily discipline. At the center of that path is accumulation rather than leap. Each season adds to the last, and the lessons from the field carry forward into the next harvest and the next blend. The progression from assistant winemaker to vineyard manager marks a deepening working knowledge of the estate’s character, not a change in direction.
