The Climb

At the University of Burgundy, Benjamin Gras built his base in viticulture, taking the subject in its academic form before moving into estate work. That early grounding was followed by trainee posts at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Burgundy and Bodega Vega-Sicilia in Spain, each adding another layer to a formation shaped by discipline, observation, and repeated exposure to high-level cellar practice. Since 2016, the winemaker role at Domaine Santa Duc has placed Benjamin Gras on the decision line for the wines. It is the point where vineyard reading, cellar judgment, and timing come together in daily work, with each choice carrying through to texture, shape, and expression in the finished wine.
