The Climb
In blending, consistency is built one decision at a time. Caroline Martin’s work at Roe & Co until 2022 sat in that register: reading composition closely, holding balance, and letting small adjustments set the shape of the final whiskey. The role asks for discipline as much as instinct, and her time there developed the steadiness and palate control the job requires. The move to The Busker Irish Whiskey in 2022 kept that same method in play. As Master Blender, Martin carried the same exacting approach into a different house and a different expression set, with the brief shifting from one house style to another while the underlying task remained the same: preserve identity, draw out depth, and keep the blend coherent.
Today
At Royal Oak Distillery, the work reaches across The Busker range, the only brand offering the full Irish whiskey experience of single pot, malt and grain whiskeys as well as a blended whiskey. That breadth puts Martin in charge of a wide set of styles, each with its own texture and expression, while the range still has to read as one family. The craft here is in managing difference without losing line, so the full range stays consistent, polished and complete.
Signature
Caroline's signature wines include Roe & Co blend and The Busker Pot Still. The Roe & Co blend is the reference point from her earlier work, showing the restraint and balance associated with her blending approach. The Busker Pot Still carries that approach into her present role, linking Irish whiskey heritage to the precision required of the blender’s hand. Taken together, Roe & Co blend and The Busker Pot Still map the shape of Martin’s work across two houses: careful, consistent, and grounded in the distinct character of each whiskey.
