    Portrait of Christian Faurois

    i. Biography

Christian Faurois was a longtime vineyard leader and mentor at Domaine Méo-Camuzet in Vosne-Romanée. The estate's official history describes him as the son and nephew of historic tenant farmers and credits him with teaching Jean-Nicolas Méo about the vines while passing on his passion for the land. Alongside Henri Jayer's cellar mentorship, Faurois's vineyard knowledge helped Jean-Nicolas learn the estate after returning to Burgundy in 1989. Faurois retired in 2018 after building a team that the domaine says remains in place and is being renewed gradually; Damien Hudelot succeeded him in the vineyard role.
