The Path
Hospitality is part of the technical background here: before winemaking, Tynan trained at Texas State University and Napa Valley College, then worked as a restaurant operator in Santa Fe, New Mexico until 2002. That front-of-house start gave way to production work, beginning with harvest at Cain Vineyard & Winery (2004) and then Blankiet Estate in Yountville (2005). Those seasonal roles placed him in the pace and discipline of the cellar, where timing, repetition, and physical labor shape the work. Assistant winemaker at Colgin Cellars in Pritch Hill from 2006 through 2011 is where the technical side deepened.
