The Path
Training in winegrowing and cellar work begins with discipline before it becomes house style. Claudio Roggero trained at University of Turin, a foundation that now carries into his work as winemaker of Castello di Neive.
The Work Today
Barbaresco production is the center of the work, including wines from the Santo Stefano cru, one of the named sites tied to the estate’s identity. Centuries-old winemaking heritage remains part of the method, but the work is not treated as static. New technologies, vineyard research, and cellar research are used within that inheritance, keeping the wines connected to history while allowing the practice to move.
Signature
The signature wines associated with Claudio Roggero include Barbaresco 1999, Albesani Santo Stefano Riserva, Barbaresco Santo Stefano, Barbaresco Santo Stefano Riserva DOGC, and Barbaresco DOCG.
Acclaim
Recognition around the estate includes Equalitas certification, a credential connected to the broader discipline behind the wines. The through-line is unusually concentrated. One place carries the education forward into practice; one appellation gives the work its pressure; one cru, Santo Stefano, gives it a recurring signature.
