The Path
Master of Wine in 2019, Edouard Baijot has built his career in luxury wine at E. & J. Gallo Winery, where precision, heritage, and instinct have to hold together. “I've been surrounded by the world of wine since childhood,” he has said, and that early proximity is visible in the way his work moves between memory, market, and method. Edouard Baijot began his career in France in 2002 as a Sales Representative at Gallo, starting in the trade at ground level. That first role placed him close to the mechanics of the business, where relationships, reputation, and an eye for quality carry real weight. Over time, his path widened through fine wine and the demands of luxury wine leadership. In 2022, he moved into a broader leadership role as Director Luxury Wines - international at E&J Gallo, a step that expanded his remit without changing the category. Today, Edouard is Director Fine Wine E.M.E.A. of E. & J. Gallo Winery, working across a portfolio that rewards discipline and long memory.
The Work Today
He now serves as Director Fine Wine E.M.E.A. at E. & J. Gallo Winery, a role aligned with a career built around luxury wine specialization. The work asks for interpretation as much as administration, drawing on French background, Champagne focus, and international experience across the category. The result is a remit shaped by one wine culture and extended through regional responsibility. That continuity matters in trade terms. Childhood familiarity, early sales experience, and executive oversight now sit in the same professional line, each stage reinforcing the next. It is a career marked by accumulation rather than reinvention.
Signature
Edouard's signature dishes include Cuvée Winston Churchill, TRIMBACH CLOS ST HUNE 2016, Romanée-Conti, and Dom Ruinart Rosé 1986. Together, they point to a palate drawn to depth, distinction, and bottles that already carry weight in the trade.
In Their Words “It was not a piece of cake. In the beginning it felt like I was in deep water.”
