Fawn Weaver

The Climb

Fawn Weaver trained at Harvard Business School (2021) and The University of Alabama, and her path from there reads like a study in scale, conviction, and steady accumulation. She began building a career with uncommon range and ambition, moving through ventures that each carried a distinct chapter of purpose and momentum. She went on to work as founder at FEW Entertainment (from 1994), founder at Grant Sidney Inc. (from 2010), and co-founder and CEO at Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey in Tennessee (2017–2026). Across those roles, the throughline is not merely business growth, but the shaping of an identity rooted in authorship and enterprise. Today, Fawn is founder of Nearest Green Foundation and board member of Endeavor (since 2021), continuing to shape her work with the same momentum that marked her rise. The names may mark different institutions, but they all sit within a larger story of building structures that reach beyond a single title or company, and of carrying influence with intention.

Today

Weaver now leads the whiskey company as founder and CEO, and she is owner of Uncle Nearest as well. Her leadership is tied to a clear ethic: when you're an African American or a woman who has figured out a pathway to success within an industry that's historically been reserved for white males, it becomes your responsibility to pull as you climb. In that framing, success is not a finish line but a kind of obligation, one that asks for reach, steadiness, and the creation of space for others. She has also said, "I've built and maintain the billion-dollar business." The statement lands with the directness of a ledger entry and the force of lived experience, reflecting both the scale of what has been constructed and the discipline required to sustain it. Another point she has made is that the Uncle Nearest executive team is the first all-female executive team in the whiskey industry and that they've set a standard of excellence for others to model. In that context, the company becomes more than a brand; it becomes a visible expression of what leadership can look like when ownership, representation, and standards are held together.
