i. Biography
The Path
Distilling sits at the center of Francois Joubert’s work, but the line to it runs through both cellar and boardroom. Training at University of Pretoria and University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika came before an Assistant Winemaker post at Vergelegen Estate (2005–2009), then a series of analyst roles that shaped the business side of the trade: Fourier Approach (2010–2011), FSPInvest/Imara SP Reid (2011), FSPInvest (2011–2016), and Investique Consulting (2016–2017). Since 2018, that mix of production and finance has been put into Incendo Distillery in Hartbeespoort, South Africa.
