Gennaro Esposito is the chef and owner of Torre del Saracino in Seiano, Vico Equense, on the Sorrento Peninsula, which he opened in 1991 focusing on local ingredients and creative Italian cuisine. The restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2001, followed by Three Forks from Gambero Rosso in 2003—the same year he founded the gastronomic event Festa a Vico—and a second Michelin star in 2008. In 2011, he was named Best Italian Chef of the Year by Identità Golose and ranked among the top three by Gambero Rosso; he later received the Michelin Guide's Chef Mentor 2020 award for mentoring young chefs.
