The Climb

Luigi De Medici catering college gave Gino D'Acampo the formal base for a career built in service, repetition, and kitchen pressure. From there, the work moved into London and Surrey, with stints at The Orchard Restaurant in Hampstead, London (from 1995) and Cambio Restaurant in Guildford, Surrey (from 1995). Those early placements established the practical habits that carry a cook through a pass: pace, control, and the ability to work across a service without losing shape. Television broadened the field, but the underlying skill set remained food-led. Gino D'Acampo appeared as guest at Great Food Live in UKTV Food, then became winner at I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! In ITV (2009), which pushed his name beyond restaurant trade. After that came presenter at There's No Taste Like Home (2011), then co-presenter at Let's Do Lunch with Gino & Mel (2011–2014), where kitchen knowledge had to sit alongside timing, pace, and on-camera ease. The format kept changing, but the work stayed tied to live delivery. Gino D'Acampo later served as team captain at Celebrity Juice in ITV2 (2014–2015), regular panellist at Celebrity Juice in ITV2 (2015), and co-star at Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip in ITV (2018–2023). Across those roles, the throughline was not just food content but performance under pressure, moving between cookery, conversation, and travel without leaving the audience behind. The current portfolio stretches across ownership, broadcast, and live appearance. Gino D'Acampo is co-owner of Bontà Italia Ltd, regular chef of This Morning, host of LBC 97.3 Sunday afternoon cookery and discussion show, founder of Gino D'Acampo My Pasta Bar / My Restaurant (since 2013), presenter of Gino's Italian Escape (since 2013), and host of Win Your Wish List / Gino's Win Your Wish List (since 2018). In 2025, he also appears as presenter at An Italian in Malta in ITV (2025), host at Spaghetti Wars (2025), guest judge at MasterChef Malta (2025), and performer at live cooking shows at Taste of Abu Dhabi in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (2025). The range shows a career that keeps food at its centre while moving freely between formats.

Today

The restaurant side of the business sits alongside broadcast work, with Gino D’Acampo Restaurants in the United Kingdom and a regular chef role on This Morning. At My Restaurant, Gino D'Acampo described the room as “a beautiful modern open plan restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Old Hall Street.”
