Inês Cap is the winemaker carrying both: the day-to-day making of the house wines, and the LouCa line, a small-batch project created by winemakers Luís Louro and Inês Capão. The role demands two registers at once — the discipline of estate production and the narrower, more exploratory frame of smaller-scale work.

Where They Are Now

At Adega Monte Branco, the practical rhythm of the winery in Estremoz defines the work Inês Cap does now. Estate winemaking asks her to help shape wines that reflect the property, while the LouCa line gives that same hand a different pace, with experimentation built into the scale of production. The two sides of the job show how one cellar can hold both repetition and variation without losing control of either. Guest-facing work is part of the same operation. Among the winery’s tasting spaces, Inês Cap speaks to visitors in direct terms: “This is one of the places where we make some of our tastings.” It is a plain description of a working estate, where tasting is not detached presentation but part of how the wine is shown in context. The estate’s own introduction follows the same register: “Hello, welcome to Adega do Monte Branco in Estremoz, in northern Alentejo. My name is Inês Capão and I am the estate winemaker.” The wording places the work and the site together, identifying both the region and the role without ornament.

Signature

LouCa is the signature line associated with Inês Cap. Developed by Luís Louro and Inês Capão, it is a small-batch, experimental series that sits alongside the estate’s core production. The scale is limited, and that limitation is part of the point: the line marks a space where the work can move with more room for testing while still remaining tied to the same cellar hands.
