Born in Budapest in 1947, István Jásdi has worked the same Csopak estate since 1998. In that span, the work has been less about reinvention than about holding a place well: one site, one cellar, one set of seasonal decisions repeated over time. The result is a winery shaped by continuity, where the craft is measured in years and the land is known through long attention.

The Work Today

Since 1998, Jásdi has been winegrower at Jásdi Winery in Csopak, Lake Balaton, Hungary. That role defines the estate as much as any label or vintage: steady work in one location, with the discipline that comes from returning to the same ground year after year. In practice, it is a craft of maintenance and judgment, built on repetition rather than spectacle. For Jásdi, the estate is the working frame of the life he has made in wine.

Signature

István's signature wines include Ranolder Fehér 2008/2015, Pinot gris 2014, Furmint 2011, Lőczedombi Welschriesling 2013, and Siralomvágó Welschriesling 2011. Taken together, they show a range worked from the same Csopak base, with each vintage carrying its own timestamp while remaining tied to the same estate.
