Jacques Pépin

Jacques Pépin is a French-born chef, author, culinary educator, television personality, and artist born in Bourg-en-Bresse, France, who moved to the United States in 1959 after training in France and serving as a personal chef for French presidents. He worked at Le Pavillon in New York and later directed research and development for Howard Johnson from 1960 to 1970, then became widely known through PBS cooking programs and more than 30 books, including La Technique. His honors include multiple James Beard Foundation awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award, the French Legion of Honor, and the inaugural Julia Child Award.
