James Sharp

James Sharp is the executive head chef at Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay at The Savoy in London, where he leads the tasting-menu restaurant inspired by Georges Auguste Escoffier’s legacy. He joined Gordon Ramsay Restaurants in 2015, worked his way up from commis chef through Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and Pétrus, and moved to Restaurant 1890 with the opening team in January 2022. Restaurant 1890 earned a Michelin star in 2024 and retained it as of 2026, with Sharp cited as the chef driving its precise, modern-French cooking.
