Jared Brandt is the founding winemaker and co-owner of Donkey & Goat, the Berkeley, California urban winery he co-founded in 2003 with Tracey Brandt. The winery’s official history says he trained in France under Rhône vigneron Éric Texier and helped establish Donkey & Goat as an early force in the U.S. natural wine movement. Multiple industry profiles describe the Brandts’ work with organically and biodynamically farmed fruit from California sites including Mendocino, the Sierra Foothills, and Napa Valley.
