Jean-Christophe Ansanay-Alex is a Lyon-based French chef long associated with L’Auberge de l’Île Barbe, where he was the chef-proprietor and later the restaurant’s owner/chef. In 2025, Italian press reported that he had spent roughly 30 years in his career, earned a Michelin star at age 27, and sold L’Auberge de l’Île Barbe before relocating to Ischia.
