Jean-Luc Pouteau

Jean-Luc Pouteau is a French sommelier who won Best Sommelier of France in 1976 and Best Sommelier of the World in 1983. He studied at the Jean Drouant hotel school in Paris, worked in restaurants including La Marée, Le Pré Catelan, and Le Pavillon Élysée, and later became chef sommelier at the Pavillon de l’Élysée and wine manager for the Lenôtre group. Since 1987, he has also worked as a wine consultant and founded his own wine business in Franconville.
