Jeffrey L. Steingarten is an American food writer and critic who has been the food columnist at Vogue since 1989. He previously worked in legal and policy roles, including as an assistant to Boston Mayor Kevin White and later as a legal consultant in Manhattan, before turning to food writing. His 1997 essay collection The Man Who Ate Everything became a New York Times best-seller and won major food-writing awards, and he has also written for Slate.
