i. Biography
Jesús Manuel Pérez Ruiz was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, on December 24, 1955, and grew up in Villa Palmeras. He founded La Casita Blanca in Villa Palmeras and Casita Miramar in Miramar, and later received coverage for Casita Blanca’s opening in 1980 as a significant Puerto Rican dining institution. He died on March 10, 2023.
