i. Biography
João Diamante is a Brazilian chef and social entrepreneur from Salvador, Bahia, raised in the Andaraí community in Rio de Janeiro. He founded Diamantes na Cozinha in 2016, a culinary and hospitality training project for people from vulnerable backgrounds, and in 2024 he opened Diamante Gastrobar in Rio de Janeiro, run largely by program graduates. He has also worked in Paris at Alain Ducasse’s restaurant at the Eiffel Tower and returned to Rio to build restaurant and training projects focused on social impact.
