John Mleziva

John Mleziva is the founder and owner of State Line Distillery in Madison, Wisconsin, a grain-to-glass distillery focused on spirits made with organic grains from the Driftless Region. He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and earned a Master of Science in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in 2012, then opened State Line in 2017 after developing the concept in Scotland. He has been profiled for building the distillery around Wisconsin terroir and for producing spirits including vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, aquavit, and coffee liqueur.
