Juan José Cuevas

Juan José Cuevas is a Puerto Rican chef who led 1919 Restaurant at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan, where the restaurant’s wine program earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2025. He graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America and began his career in 1995 at the three-Michelin-star restaurant Akelarre in San Sebastián, Spain. He is a pioneer of farm-to-table cooking in Puerto Rico.
