i. Biography
Training and Lineage
Hospitality training often starts on the floor, where pacing, tableside language, and service recovery are learned in real time. June Rodil’s entry into the trade came through the University of Texas and a waitress role at the Driskill Hotel, followed by Beverage Director posts at Congress, Uchi, and McGuire Moorman Hospitality in Austin, TX, where she worked until 2019. The throughline is beverage leadership built from service rather than separated from it. “I was always in the restaurant industry throughout college. I worked full time and went to school full time and found a lot of solace in human interaction when I was at work.” June has said.
The Practice Today
Company leadership in hospitality depends on translating cellar knowledge, floor standards, and operating discipline into a wider business structure. Since 2019, June Rodil has served as CEO and Partner at Goodnight Hospitality in Houston. Her Master Sommelier credential, earned in 2015, remains part of that operating framework: a wine-trained executive applying beverage rigor inside a hospitality group.
Signature
Wine focus: June’s Brut Rosé.
