i. Biography
Karl Wente is a fifth-generation winegrower and winemaker at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, California, part of the country’s oldest continuously operated family-owned winery. He is chief winemaker and vice president/senior vice president for winemaking at Wente Family Estates. He joined the family business in 2001 and has overseen winemaking for the Wente family’s estate vineyards in Livermore Valley, San Francisco Bay, and Arroyo Seco.
