Roseworthy College provided the technical base for Keith Hentschke’s approach: disciplined, methodical, and planned with the long term in view. That training established a career path centered on consistency rather than noise. In 1997, he founded and became owner of Hentley Farm, setting the terms for the work that followed. From the start, the project was marked by attention to vineyard expression, quality, and longevity. By 1999, the bare block vineyard he started there had begun to develop into something with a clearer identity.

Where They Are Now

That same stewardship remains attached to the role today. Founder and Managing Director is not just an executive title here; it signals both origin and ongoing responsibility. Keith Hentschke continues in that position at Hentley Farm Wines in Barossa Valley, Australia, where the estate still carries the imprint of his early decisions and persistent intent.

Signature

Old Legend is one of Keith’s signature wines, and its name sits close to the estate’s identity. In a portfolio shaped by place, it reads as one of the clearest expressions of Hentley Farm’s house style and the exacting standards associated with Keith Hentschke.

Keith’s honors include James Halliday "number one" winery ranking / best winery in Australia and Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for Best Young Red Wine.
