Lorena Vásquez

Lorena Vásquez is a Nicaraguan-born master blender for Ron Zacapa in Guatemala, where she has worked for more than 35 years and is credited with helping define the brand’s signature style. She studied pharmaceutical chemistry, with additional studies in food technology and business administration, before moving from a brewery quality-control role into the rum industry and rising to become Guatemala’s first female master blender. She has also been recognized as one of PEOPLE en Español’s 25 Most Influential Women.
