Luke O’Cuinneagain

Luke O’Cuinneagain is the winemaker at Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West. He grew up in the Constantia Valley, studied viticulture and oenology at Stellenbosch University, and gained experience at Rustenberg, Château de Fieuzal, Château Angélus, Caves Robert Dietrich and Screaming Eagle. Before joining Vergelegen, he was the winemaker at Glenelly Estate from 2008. At Vergelegen he focuses on minimally interventionist, Bordeaux-influenced wines and the estate's Cabernet varieties.
