Manuel González Bals

Training at Don Bosco in Rodeo del Medio and Universidad Masa gave Manuel González Bals the technical base that shows up later in the glass: discipline, repeatability, and attention to detail. His early enological work included laboratory responsibilities, the kind of post that trains a winemaker to track variables closely and to work with patience rather than display. That progression settled at Andeluna Cellars in Tupungato, Mendoza, Argentina, where the work has continued across many vintages. Manuel González Bals has been winemaker there since 2011, bringing continuity to a cellar where repetition and observation matter as much as timing.

Cabernet Franc sits at the center of Manuel González Bals’s practice. The variety is the clearest marker of his approach: measured, steady, and shaped by accumulated work rather than novelty. Long tenure is part of the craft here. In 2022, González Bals held the Director of Enology and Viticulture role at Andeluna in Tupungato, bringing vineyard and cellar into the same frame of responsibility.
