Marcelo Retamal

Marcelo Retamal is a Chilean winemaker known for his long tenure at Viña De Martino, where he joined in 1996, and for his later consulting role at Viña Sutil. He became a partner/winemaker at Viñedos de Alcohuaz in the Elqui Valley, a high-altitude project he helped shape around site-driven, low-intervention wines. In 2025, reporting indicated he was stepping aside from daily involvement at Alcohuaz while continuing consulting work for other Chilean wineries including Viña Sutil.
