Martha Stoumen

Martha Stoumen is a California winemaker and the founder of Martha Stoumen Wines, which she established in 2014 with a focus on low-intervention wines, organic and dry-farmed vineyards, and a “culture of patience.” She is a first-generation winemaker who spent eight years apprenticing around the world before launching her own label, and she has said she views herself as an environmentalist using wine as the medium. She was raised in Sebastopol/Sonoma County and later earned an M.S. in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis after undergraduate study at UCLA in Geography and Environmental Studies with a minor in Italian.
