Masatoshi "Gari" Sugio

Masatoshi “Gari” Sugio is the chef-owner behind Sushi of Gari, the New York sushi concept he opened in 1997. The original Upper East Side restaurant at 402 East 78th Street introduced New Yorkers to his distinctive style of sushi, and later outposts included Gari on Columbus Avenue and Sushi of Gari 46 in the Theater District.
