i. Biography
Matt Whitney is a sommelier and beverage director in the U.S. hospitality industry who has worked in Boston, New York, and Miami. He became a certified sommelier in 2014, later served as wine director at Eastern Standard in Boston, and then directed the wine program at Manhatta in New York before joining Sunny’s Steakhouse in Miami, where he was profiled as sommelier in 2025. He was recognized as a 2025 StarChefs Miami Rising Stars Award winner.
