i. Biography
Mickey Heads is the former distillery manager of Ardbeg on Islay, where he served from 2007 until his retirement in 2020. Ardbeg’s 2021 release Arrrrrrrdbeg! was bottled to celebrate his 13 years at the helm, and whisky trade coverage notes that he continued as chairman of the Ardbeg Committee after stepping down from day-to-day management.
