Mitja Birlo is the Chef de Cuisine at The Counter in Zurich, Switzerland, following his role as chef at the two-Michelin-starred 7132 Silver in Vals. Born in 1985 in Berlin, he earned Gault & Millau Chef of the Year 2022 and has helmed The Counter, which holds one Michelin star for its creative, modern cuisine featuring surprise tasting menus observed at an open counter kitchen. His wife Florentina Birlo manages the service and wine selection.
