Nicolaus "Nicky" Hahn

Nicolaus “Nicky” Hahn was a Swiss-born wine entrepreneur and founder of Hahn Family Wines in Monterey County, California. He and his wife Gaby purchased the Smith & Hook vineyards in 1979, released their first wine from the Santa Lucia Highlands in 1980, and later helped establish the Santa Lucia Highlands as an American Viticultural Area. He died in March 2018 at age 81 in Zurich, Switzerland.
