Training at Heriot-Watt University gave Owen Martin the technical base for distilling, where method and control matter as much as taste. The move into production work led to Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey in Colorado, where he served as Head Distiller until 2022 and worked inside the disciplined pace of a distilling house. In 2022, he became Master Distiller of Angel's Envy, taking on the shaping of the brand’s spirit in Louisville. The progression reads as a steady accumulation of responsibility, with each post requiring more precision and a wider remit.

Today

At Angel's Envy, the work is framed by a mandate to test the limits of the house style: "We are always looking to push the boundaries of innovation at Angel’s Envy." That line places the emphasis on adjustment, revision, and controlled change rather than preservation alone. In the Master Distiller role, Owen Martin sits at the point where those decisions are translated into the brand’s ongoing output, keeping one eye on continuity and the other on what can be sharpened.
