Petros Markantonatos

The Climb

Training at Technological Institute of Athens, RMIT University, and University of Sussex (1996) gave Petros Markantonatos a base that spans business thinking and wine culture. That mix shows in the course of his work: from Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist at K. Papaellinas SA in Greece (1996–1999), where commercial discipline was part of the job, to long involvement as co-owner at Gentilini Winery in Greece (1996–2014), where estate ownership meant staying close to the wines, the land, and the long view. Today, Petros is Export Manager and Production Manager of Gentilini Winery (since 1996), a dual remit that links market access with cellar responsibility. The role sits between international trade and the practical rhythm of production, where decisions are shaped by harvests, blends, and the steady work of refining style. Over time, that continuity has made his association with the estate part of its working identity.

Today

At a producer identified with Cephalonia, the work connects commercial reach to cellar decisions. That gives Petros’s role a clear sense of place: the wines move through markets, but they begin as expressions of an island producer with its own character. His remit sits where strategy meets production, and where export language is grounded in what happens among the tanks, barrels, and vineyard rows.

Signature

Petros's signature wines include GENTILINI ECLIPSE, Gentilini Syrah, Robola, and Mavrodaphne of Kefalonia. The range covers the flagship, varietal expression, and regional markers in one portfolio. GENTILINI ECLIPSE sits at the center of that group, while Gentilini Syrah, Robola, and Mavrodaphne of Kefalonia each carry a distinct place in the producer’s lineup.
