Rafa Costa e Silva is the chef and owner of Lasai in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which he opened in 2014 with Malena Cardiel in the Botafogo neighborhood. The restaurant is described on its official site as his and Malena Cardiel’s cosmopolitan restaurant, and CIA identifies him as Executive Chef/Owner, Lasai Restaurant. He studied Culinary Arts at the Culinary Institute of America and spent about ten years outside Brazil, including work with Andoni Luis Aduriz at Mugaritz, before returning to Rio to open Lasai.
