The trade side of wine can teach its own discipline, and Ryan Looper entered it in New York City in 2007 as a rep with no accounts, limited wine knowledge, and little sense of how the beverage business worked. That starting point forced a practical education: making calls, following up, listening well, and learning that growth is built conversation by conversation. By 2015, that early work had carried Ryan Looper to T. Edward Wines in New York, where he worked as a sales representative and continued building command of the market from the field. From there, his path moved through De Maison Selections and De Maison East in growth and leadership roles, each step adding another layer of responsibility in a business that rewards consistency, range, and close attention. He also founded Looper Tuesday, another part of a career shaped by movement and adaptation.

Today

At De Maison Selections, Ryan Looper serves as Chief Growth Officer while also directing De Maison East. The work sits at the junction of expansion and stewardship: keeping pace with where the trade is going while staying grounded in the daily mechanics of distribution, sales, and the people who make those channels function.
