Salomón Rey Rodriguez, also known as "Tío Rey," is a mezcal producer in Gulerá, Sola de Vega, Oaxaca, whose palenque and agave fields are featured by Mezcal Vago. He is a multigenerational family producer who works exclusively in ancestral mezcal made with clay pot distillation, and Mas Mezcal states that he had not produced mezcal commercially before Mezcal Vago. He is identified on product and producer pages as the maker of Mezcal Vago expressions including Espadín en Barro, Ensamble en Barro, Tobalá en Barro, Mexicano en Barro, and pechuga releases.
