Sanford D'Amato

Sanford D’Amato, often called Sandy D’Amato, is a Milwaukee-born chef who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1974, worked in New York City restaurants through the 1970s, and returned to Milwaukee to open Sanford Restaurant with his wife Angie in 1989 in the family grocery-store building. He later sold Sanford in 2012 after a 23-year run and then moved to Hatfield, Massachusetts, where he launched Good Stock Farm and a cooking school, while also publishing his memoir Good Stock: Life on a Low Simmer in 2013.
