Sawsan Da'ana is a Kuwaiti-Palestinian chef and restaurateur at Matbakhi in Kuwait City, where she is described as the owner and head chef and is also identified as the person behind Matbakhi by Sawsan. MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 says Matbakhi opened in spring 2024 at The Avenues in Surra, Kuwait, and features Da'ana’s contemporary takes on Palestinian and Levantine classics. Earlier coverage also described Matbakhi as a Levantine restaurant run by Da'ana in West Abu Fatira, Kuwait, with Da'ana handling the culinary direction.
