The Path
Early responsibility at Bio-Weingut Goswin Kranz in Brauneberg put Sven Zerwas close to the working core of a winery: vineyard decisions, cellar routines, and the daily coordination that turns fruit into wine. As Betriebsleiter there, Zerwas learned the trade from the inside out, with each task tied to the material conditions of the estate rather than to theory at a distance. That kind of start tends to leave a mark on a winemaker’s method: practical, observant, and built on repetition. Since 2019, Tiny Winery has given Sven Zerwas a separate outlet as founder / winemaker. The project adds another register to the work already established at Bio-Weingut Goswin Kranz in Brauneberg, showing how a producer can carry estate discipline into a smaller personal format without losing the habits that come from hands-on cellar work.
The Work Today
At Bio-Weingut Goswin Kranz, Sven Zerwas continues as winemaker in the same place that shaped the earlier part of the career. The role keeps the work close to process: managing wines with steady attention, relying on patience, and letting the cellar set the pace rather than forcing it. It is the kind of practice that values consistency over display.
Signature
Big Bamm!, Moselaner Weisse, 2025er Sven Zerwas Pinot Noir, and 2025er Sven Zerwas Lagrein are the named signatures here, and together they show a range of intent rather than a single house style. Big Bamm! Carries a more playful note; Moselaner Weisse sits differently again; the 2025er Sven Zerwas Pinot Noir and 2025er Sven Zerwas Lagrein point to varietal work presented under Zerwas’s own name. Read as a set, they suggest a producer working across tone, texture, and format.
Acclaim
Traditional Fuder barrels and a long time on the fine lees are the clearest markers in the work. Those choices place Sven Zerwas in a mode of élevage that favors patience and control, using time in wood and on lees to build structure and nuance. It is a method grounded in established Mosel practice, applied with a disciplined hand.
