Viticulture and winemaking sit at the same point in Szöllősi Mih’s early work: the place where vineyard decisions meet cellar discipline. As director of the viticulture and winemaking division at Sárisápi Termelőszövetkezet in Sárisáp, he worked in the daily transfer from grape to finished wine, where consistency depends on close attention to timing, condition, and handling. That practical base is matched by his service as grand master at Zsigmond Király Borlovagrend Egyesület and as a member at Magyar Bor Akadémia, roles that placed Szöllősi Mih in the ceremonial and scholarly side of wine culture as well as its production side.

"Wine has always been present in my life," Szöllősi says, and the line points to wine as a constant rather than a late-career interest. In his view, the work reaches beyond production and sale into regional responsibility. "Our mission is to regain the worldwide reputation of Neszmély wines and promote cultured wine consumption." The emphasis falls on recovery, reputation, and conduct: wine as something tied to place, and also to the way it is understood, served, and discussed.

Signature

Szöllősi's signature wines include Olaszrizling and Szöllősi Sauvignon Blanc. The pairing reflects two registers of his work: one drawn from a recognizable regional grape, the other carrying his own name as a label. Read together, they suggest a style built around clarity, continuity, and a direct line between maker and wine.
