Chardonnay and Reserve Wine
A. Margaine’s Villers-Marmery range makes two forms of continuity visible: Le Brut blends a current harvest with reserve wines, while La Cuvée M comes from a perpetual reserve. Read the edition, not a permanent recipe
The producer’s published Le Brut base-2023 release is 86% Chardonnay and 14% Pinot Noir, with 59% from the 2023 harvest and the balance from reserves. That is a specific edition. La Cuvée M’s listed release is 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir and uses a perpetual reserve from 2002–2020. Future editions may differ.
