i. Biography
Adejoké Bakare is the founder and head chef of Chishuru, a Michelin-starred modern West African restaurant located in Fitzrovia, London. Born in Nigeria, she worked in property management in the UK before winning the Brixton Kitchen competition in 2019 and opening Chishuru in 2020. In February 2024, she became the first Black female chef in the UK to be awarded a Michelin star.
