i. Biography
The Path
Horticulture University gave Aurelia Visinescu the technical ground under the work; VINEXPORT in Romania gave it repetition. From 1993, that early role established the basics of production, while later internships in Cape Town, South Africa (1997) and Australia (1999) widened the frame beyond home ground. Taken together, those years show a craft built through study, observation, and the slow accumulation of practice across different places. Since 2003, Domeniile Săhăteni has been the place where that training settled into long work. As winemaker and co-founder there, Aurelia Visinescu has linked daily production to the more durable task of building a house style over time. The line from horticulture study to VINEXPORT in Romania, then to South Africa and Australia, reads less like a leap than a method: learn, compare, return, and keep working.
The Work Today
At Domeniile Săhăteni, Aurelia Visinescu has worked as winemaker since 2003, and the craft is defined here as much by selection and restraint as by technique. Her own words set out the framework: “I think that a glass of wine can reflect more than a drink, therefore I try to catch into my wines the whole story, starting with the place, the variety character and the hands and mind of people involved.” Place, grape, and the people behind the bottle are treated as parts of the same work. That approach places the wine in context rather than treating it as a finished object detached from its source. The result is a practice shaped by place, variety, and human labor, with each decision aimed at carrying those elements into the glass.
Signature
Aurelia's signature dishes include SIGNATURE Fetească Neagră, Anima 3 Fete Negre Fetească Neagră, Artisan Fetească Neagră, Nomad Fetească Regală, and Anima Merlot. Together, these names point to a range that moves through character and style while remaining anchored in her own winemaking identity.
In Their Words “I think that a glass of wine can reflect more than a drink, therefore I try to catch into my wines the whole story, starting with the place, the variety character and the hands and mind of people involved.” “A single glass of wine can reveal more than a story; my winemaking history begins with the love of nature.”
Acclaim
"A single glass of wine can reveal more than a story; my winemaking history begins with the love of nature." That line points back to the same structure running through the work: horticulture training, years in production, and a long practice at the winery since 2003.
